Tomb Raider is a series of nine video games and two films, starting with the 1996 homonymous title. In the game, the player controls Lara Croft, a female adventurer who travels the world in search of ancient relics and fighting against organized crime.
Tomb Raider was the first game to use extensively 3D environments from a first-person perspective not as a pure shooter, but to introduce the notions of exploration, discovery, riddles and adventure. The game based its success in aspects related with the intrigue for the discovery of long forgotten treasures and the fascination in the speculation on past times through the interpretation of their legacy.
